Gaja the most revolutionary winery from Italy is coming to Curacao.

The Wine Factory and Winery Gaja are organizing a wine seminar and wine dinner at Hyatt Regency on the 24th and 25th January. Gaja gives you the opportunity to taste the most prestigious  wines from Piedmont and Tuscany area and to hear the story about  "the undisputed king of Barbaresco”.

Gaja is an Italian wine producer from the Piedmont region in the district of Langhe, chiefly producing a number of Barbaresco and Barolo wines, and later diversified into Brunello and "Super-Tuscan" production. Its current owner and wine icon Angelo Gaja is credited with developing techniques that have revolutionized winemaking in Italy.The Gaja winery was founded in 1859 by Giovanni Gaja, the Gaja family having arrived from Spain during the 17th century. The family Gaja opened a tavern in Barbaresco, serving its wines with the food.

Angelo Gaja,  great-grandson of Giovanni Gaja, began his career with the company in 1961 at the age of 21, having studied wine making at the Enological Institute in Alba and at the University of Montpellier in France, and held a degree in economics from the University of Turin. At the time there were only about 100 people producing Barbaresco and Barolo, and Gaja was already the major vineyard owner of Barbaresco. As Angelo Gaja in 1970 takes the company over from his parents, he asks his old classmate and winemaker Guido Rivella to assist him. Together they perform some of the area quite revolutionary changes. The results are stunning and Gaja Barbaresco's conquers with its beautiful character - the flagship of the company - the whole world.
